Veronica Hereford
Veronica Hereford is committed and dedicated to the philosophy that we all thrive when we support, speak truth into and hold hope for one another. With this philosophy as her life’s mission, Veronica has had the privilege to occupy numerous spaces both personally and professionally. She is a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and has acquired ‘family’ throughout her journey.
Professionally Veronica has worked with people in a variety of settings over a 30+ year career. Veronica has worked in domestic violence programming; both as a front-line provider and program coordinator. She has been a foster parent. For the last 23 years, her work has been with families and youth navigating complex systems and supporting them through very tumultuous and stressful times. Leading with love and always focusing on truth and the belief that people function best when they are allowed to be the expert in their life.
Veronica has a master’s in social work and a master’s in public administration. She is a Licensed Advance Placement Social Worker and Substance Abuse Counselor-In Training. She is a trained doula and childbirth educator. and a Certified Parent Peer Specialist. She has been trained in divorce and family mediation, trauma, crisis response and safety planning. She is a member of the University of Wisconsin Prevention Research Center’s Community Advisory Board.
My goal for the work that I will be doing at Sondercove is to provide our clients with the respectful support that they deserve. To educate them in areas that my experiences have allowed me to gain knowledge. Most importantly, it is to empower them to be their own greatest advocate.
