Sondercove Foundation

The Sondercove Foundation was created to bridge the gap between need and access in mental health and substance use recovery. We believe that healing should not depend on privilege, income, or insurance status. By funding free, peer-led, and culturally responsive services, we work to remove the systemic and financial barriers that prevent individuals from receiving the support they deserve. Rooted in the understanding that wellness is shaped by social determinants of health, we invest in people, communities, and initiatives that strengthen belonging, resilience, and holistic recovery.

About

The Sondercove Foundation transforms wellness by expanding access to peer-led, community-driven mental health and substance use support. We move beyond traditional systems of care by offering holistic, culturally responsive services not confined by insurance or financial barriers. Through outreach, peer training, and recovery-centered programming, we create pathways for equitable, accessible, and quality support that strengthens the communities we serve.

The Sondercove Foundation supports initiatives of Sondercove Wellness. This includes funding free peer support sessions, outreach initiatives, and professional development for the peer workforce, ensuring that individuals receive care rooted in dignity, understanding, and connection.

Empowering Change

At the heart of our work is the belief that healing begins with people and connection. We invest in the growth of peer providers and emerging wellness leaders, centering lived experience as expertise. By strengthening the voices of those from historically marginalized communities, we are cultivating a workforce that reflects the diversity, resilience, and brilliance of the people we serve.

Dissolving Divides

Finances and lack of insurance should never determine who receives support. The Sondercove Foundation bridges those gaps by funding free, holistic peer support services for individuals who are underinsured or not eligible for traditional programs. Our work addresses the social determinants of health like; housing stability, access to care, food security, and community belonging. We recognize that wellness requires more than a single service; it requires an ecosystem of support.

Building Stronger Communities

Community is the cornerstone of recovery. Our free and low-barrier programming, including youth mentoring, family support groups, community conversations, and peer-led wellness events, creates spaces of safety, empowerment, and collective healing. We aim to restore hope, strengthen families, and promote emotional wellness across generations.
