Chris Zimmer

Chris is a Certified Peer Support Specialist whose work is grounded in lived experience and a passion for mental health, recovery, and personal growth. Having navigated depression, anxiety, alcohol addiction, and challenging life circumstances, Chris understands how mental health, substance use, and old patterns of thinking can affect relationships, self-worth, and the ability to move forward. His ongoing recovery journey has taught him the value of self-awareness, compassion, and embracing change.

Chris incorporates yoga, breathwork, meditation, mindfulness, movement, journaling, and community recovery meetings into his daily wellness practice. As a certified yoga instructor, he shares practices that have helped him find greater balance and awareness. Through peer support, Chris helps individuals recognize their strengths, build self-worth, develop self-advocacy skills, set personal goals, and explore recovery pathways that work for them.

Chris believes everyone deserves to be heard without judgment and supported in defining their own path. His approach is rooted in empathy, active listening, and respect for each person’s choices and experiences. He believes people are more than their struggles and that meaningful growth is possible, one step at a time.
