About our Story, Grown in Community
Sondercove Wellness wasn’t born in a boardroom. It was born in the pauses between survival and collapse; in the long nights someone sat on the floor with no one to call. In the shame-soaked silence after a relapse. In the empty waiting rooms where folks were told they’d “aged out,” “timed out,” or “used up” their chances. It was born in the moments where the system said “no,” but community said “I got you anyway.”
Sondercove came from lived experience. From walking through mental health challenges that weren’t always named, from navigating substance use without clean labels or neat endings. From being told, “you’re strong,” when what was really needed was softness, safety, and someone to sit beside the storm.
Over time, through community, connection, and collective healing, a different vision began to take shape. One where recovery wasn’t a destination but a relationship. Where people could show up in pieces and still be whole.
Sondercove Wellness was created for those who’ve been told “you’re too much” and for those who’ve been told “you’re not enough.” It’s for the ones who fell through the cracks and built homes in the spaces between. It’s for the people who’ve survived systems and still find ways to love others, and for every soul who's ever been met with punishment when what they needed was care.
This is a place where lived experience is sacred. Where harm reduction is a language of love. Where being seen doesn’t come with conditions.
Welcome to Sondercove—a shelter, a movement, a soft place to land.

Sondercove Foundation
At Sondercove Foundation, we advance fair and impartial access to mental health and substance use recovery through peer-led, culturally responsive, and holistic support. As the nonprofit arm of Sondercove Wellness, we provide free, supportive services to historically marginalized individuals and those facing barriers to accessing care. We are intentionally removing financial obstacles and gaps in health insurance coverage.
Our mission extends beyond direct support to address the broader social determinants of health that shape wellbeing, including housing stability, food security, and access to quality healthcare. Through collaboration, advocacy, and lived experience, we are transforming recovery.
